Eric Paul Duffey

Eric Paul Duffey, 56, of Weatherford, formally of Marion passed away Saturday May 16, 2009 in Weatherford Regional Medical Center after losing his battle with cancer. Born January 19, 1953 in Marion, Ohio to Paul and Virginia Duffey, he was a resident of Weatherford, Texas for a short time. Eric attended Harding High School and Osum. Eric and Elaine Champer Duffey were blessed with their son, Seth in 1974. He relocated to Texas in 1981 where he attended Texas State in Dallas and worked as a formulations chemist until 2006 when he moved to a quieter life in Weatherford. Eric was a firm believer in our Constitution and was a strong Conservative. He enjoyed talk radio, music, reading and FI racing. Eric is preceded in death by his father Paul E. Duffey and ex-wife Elaine Champer. Survivors: Wife, Barbara of Weatherford, formally of Marion; mother, Virginia Duffey; son, Seth Duffey and fiancé Barbara Stansbery; brother, Dennis Duffey and wife Carol all of Marion, Ohio; three grandchildren, Anna and Colin of Dallas, Texas and James of Marion, Ohio. Memorials may be made in Eric’s memory to Moncrief Cancer Resources, 1701 River Run Suite 500, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Marion, Ohio.
