Eugene Raymond Jackson

Eugene Raymond Jackson, 75, life long resident of Weatherford, passed away Friday morning February 12, 2010, at home. Raymond, as he was known to everyone, was born April 3, 1934, in Weatherford, to Roy and Mattie Jackson. Raymond and his loving wife, Nelda, married June 3, 1960.

Raymond was an employee of the City of Weatherford from 1962 until 1997. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and a thirty seven year member of the Odd Fellows of White Settlement. Raymond loved gardening, but his favorite pastime was winning at Dominoes.

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by a sister, Roylene Jackson; his parents and a son, Larry Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda; daughters, Beverly Brown and husband, Paul, and Rebecca Teague and husband, Rickey, all of Weatherford; sons, Ricky Jackson and wife, Sara of Weatherford, and Roy Gene Jackson of Mineral Wells; eight grandchildren, Andy Brown, Tamra Lewis, James Brown, Jennifer Todd, Amanda Jackson, Raymond Teague, Will Teague and Katy Jackson, and three great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Valtierra and husband, Lupe of Mineral Wells; brothers, Edward Jackson of Alabama, and Leroy Jackson and wife, Carmen of Baytown, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.
