Eva Faye Meek

  Eva Faye Meek, age 93, peacefully entered into rest on Friday, September 20, 2024. She was born on January 3, 1931, in Decatur, Texas, to the late James and Kitty (Boyston) Hudson.

  A devoted woman of faith, Eva cherished her family and her church community. She played the piano and organ at church, sang in the choir, and was a gifted songwriter. Eva pursued a variety of interests throughout her life. She was skilled in archery, even winning a championship, and enjoyed deer hunting and camping with her late husband, Rubbon W. Meek. Professionally, she had a long and dedicated career with Lockheed Martin.

  Eva is lovingly remembered by her son, Danny Meek and his wife, Glenda, of Tolar, Texas; her daughter, Becky Woods of Weatherford, Texas; her six grandchildren, Jeremy Meek, Chuck Brown and his wife, Amy, D.J. Meek and his wife, Wendy, Mindy A. Wells and her husband, Anthony, Ashley Meek, and John Woods and wife, Samantha; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

  The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Wings Over Texas Hospice, especially Nurse Amanda and her aide, Samantha, for their compassionate care.

  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. A funeral service to celebrate Eva's life will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the same location.
