Evelyn Ruth Sargent Grooms

Evelyn Ruth Sargent Grooms, 95, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011.  Evelyn was born February 19, 1916 in Hood County to Lavana and Henry Sargent.  She married Howard Grooms in 1934.
 
Mrs. Grooms was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Bobby Grooms and a daughter, Charlene Floyd.
 
Evelyn was devoted to God and faithfully went to church at Eureka Baptist Church and Emanuel Baptist Church for over 50 years.
 
Survivors include a son-in-law, C.P. Floyd of Cisco; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild on the way; sister, Lucy Everett; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
 
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memory Gardens.
 
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
