Floyd Harold Montgomery, 86, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 5:32am. He was born November 20, 1931 in Houston, Texas to Ray Glover Montgomery and Mildred Mary Vogler. He was a resident of Weatherford for 17 years and a member of First Baptist Church. Before moving to Weatherford he lived in Pasadena, Texas for 38 years, where he was a member of First Baptist Church, Pasadena.
Floyd was passionate about his family and his 27 year career as a police officer. He retired from the Pasadena Police Department in 1987 after serving in patrol, motorcycle patrol and the auto theft divisions. His career choice of a public servant was no surprise after serving in the United States Army for 10 years as military police and discharging with the rank of sergeant. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Florence Fay Earnest, his parents, and older sister, Helen.
Survivors include three daughters Linda Burks and husband Ronnie of Weatherford, Cheryl Foster and husband Michael of Marble Falls, Teresa Smith and husband Gregory of La Porte; seven grandchildren, Byron, Dawn, Charlie, Nathan, Fayre, Harrison and Hannah; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and one brother Charles Montgomery of New Mexico.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11am on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the Galbreath Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment at the Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth at 2pm.
