Frederic Anthony 'Tony' Martinez died suddenly at home January 8, 2021. Tony was born November 23, 1947 in Cimarron, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederic Henry Martinez and Mary Donila Esquibel Martinez. 

Tony is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vicki Martinez, with whom his beloved fur babies, Chief, Luke and Zorro reside in Willow Park, Texas. Also survived by his siblings, Mary Helen Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Theresa (Richard) Sanchez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Narciso (Dorothy) Martinez of Monroe, Washington; Sylvia (Anthony) Gomez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Gloria Jean Martinez of Las Vegas, Nevada. Tony was blessed with 7 nieces and nephews and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.


Tony was a 1965 graduate of Rio Grande High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, graduating with honors. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965 where he served on the USS Ranger and USS America, traveling around the world to many ports of call. After his first enlistment, he left the Navy and resided in Oak Harbor, Washington, where he worked at Oscar's Union Station and the Auto Parts Store. Tony rejoined the Navy in 1978, where he served as a flight engineer, working on P-3's and other fixed wing aircraft. He traveled to many countries, including, Central and South America, Japan, Korea and Australia. Having mentored many sailors over the years, he retired from the Navy in 2004 as Senior Chief Petty Officer after 33 years of faithful service. After retiring from the Navy, he owned and operated Tony's Pool Service, serving the Parker and Tarrant County areas. After 8 years of pool service, Tony officially retired to his home in Willow Park, Texas in 2012.

Tony had a passion for fast cars. He participated in circle track and drag racing for many years. Throughout his life, he had owned several Mustangs and Corvettes as his 'sunny day' drivers. In the end, his ultimate pride and joy would be his Porsche 911.

A memorial service will be held at the Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, in Willow Park, at 1:00 p.m., on March 19, 2021.
