Garland Dale Groh, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed on March 26, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on April 6, 1951, in the small town of Lamesa, Texas, to Richard and Dorothy Waddell Groh, Garland lived a life rich with experiences and endless passion.
A mechanic at heart, Garland thrived in the world of planes, trains, and automobiles, nurturing a love for old cars that painted his life's tapestry. Each vehicle held a special memory, marking the journeys of his past with pride and nostalgia. His sharp wit and playful sense of humor made him a beloved figure among friends and family, a gentle soul who could lighten any room with his infectious smile.
Garland's love story with Sandy began cruising the streets of Weatherford, a beacon of fate that would lead to their marriage on June 29, 1973. As they prepared to celebrate 52 beautiful years together this June, the bond they shared became a benchmark of love and devotion, inspiring all fortunate enough to witness it.
Beyond his passion for mechanics, Garland found joy in ranching—an opportunity to work with the land he loved. A dedicated member of his community, he served as a founding member and deacon of Newfound Baptist Church until its closure.
Garland leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Kay Groh, and their four sons: Keith Groh and wife, Sandy, Danny Groh, Jeremy Groh and wife, Jamie, and Keith Groh, II and wife, Dani. He was a proud grandfather to Madison Groh, Andrew Groh, Tayler Herington, Emma Taylor, Makayah Bradford, Carolyn Groh, Anna Groh, Kayla Groh, Kobe Baker, Nathan Baker and wife, Ashley, Matthew Gasset, and J.C. Minton; and a cherished great-grandfather to Fynn Herington and Nash Herington. He will also be missed dearly by his brothers, Larry Groh and wife, Melanie, Ted Groh and wife, Lanelle, and Brian Groh and wife, Donna; sister, Jeanie Moore and husband, Bill; and many nieces and nephews.
