Garland Ray Dixon, 81, of Weatherford passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was born September 8, 1935 to Alcie Robert and Lillie Mae Nelson Dixon. Garland was a member of Indian Oaks Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Worth. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dominos especially 42. Garland also enjoyed traveling either in his travel trailer or on cruises. He was a civil engineer, helping design the aprons, roadways and runways at DFW International Airport as well as some at Alliance Airport. Garland was preceded in death by his wife, Mickey Dixon, last year.
Survivors include his children, Dianna Dixon of Weatherford and Steve Dixon and wife Amanda of Flower Mound; granddaughters, Amber, Lauren, and Brittany; sister, Joan Clark of La Port, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 2 at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel with burial following at Curtis Cemetery.
