Gary Lee Jacobs

Gary Lee Jacobs, age 60, passed from his life into the presence of Jesus on February 10, 2018. Memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 17, 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Hudson Oaks.

Gary was born September 1, 1957 to Leland H. Jacobs and Shirley Anita Hilton Jacobs. He grew up in Crowley, Texas where he graduated from Crowley High. There he had many friends-with lots of stories to tell. He was Drum Major and trombone player for CHS Band. On July 7, 1979, he married Tammi Jean Jessup, their union was blessed with four wonderful children of whom Gary was very proud. Even sweeter later in life they were blessed beyond measure with seven grandchildren.

Besides Husband, Daddy and Gramps, Gary wore many hats over the years; mortgage specialist, music minister, youth minister and for a while worked with troubled youth both in Juneau, Alaska and Weatherford. He served at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Hudson Oaks, FBC Dennis, FBC Juneau, AK and Parker Baptist Association working with youth camp and bible drill. Gary was a gifted singer.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Leslie Wayne Jacobs. 

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tammi; daughter, Jennifer Tolin and spouse Aaron; son, Adam Jacobs and spouse, Cassie; son, Houston Jacobs and spouse Nicki; daughter, Kati Jacobs and spouse Ethan; grandchildren, Molly, Dawsyn and Tatum Tolin; Jacsen and Jonathan Jacobs, Dixie Jacobs and Emma Jacobs; nephews, Preston Jacobs and Trey White; niece, Andrea Hayward; sisters, Denise Ayers and Dollie Suites and a multitude of extended family and friends.
