Gary Wayne Puckett, Sr.

Gary Wayne Puckett Sr., 63, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011.  Gary was born December 9, 1947 in Bonnieville, KY to Naomi Ann and Joseph Elmo Puckett. Gary was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army.  He received two purple hearts and a bronze star among other decorations.  He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4746 in Weatherford and a past Post Commander and a member of the American Legion.  He also served on the board of directors for the Horseshoe Bend Lot Owners Association. Gary was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Joseph and Francis Puckett and his mother, Naomi DuValle. Survivors include his wife, Linda;  sons, Gary Puckett Jr. and wife, Sara; Jeromy Puckett and wife Chastity; Anthony Puckett and wife, Diane; and John Collins III and wife Jennifer; daughter, Jamie Collins and Tony Gutierrez; grandchildren, Dylan Puckett, Jordan Puckett, Zachary Armstrong, Camden Collins, Zoe Wiley, Saylor Wiley, Lex Gutierrez, Abigail Puckett, Olivia Puckett, Lillian Gutierrez and Emma Puckett; siblings, Karen Wallace, Bobby Puckett, Larry Puckett, Donald DuValle and Diana DuValle and lots of nieces and nephews.
 
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m., Friday at North Side Baptist Church.  Burial will be in DFW National Cemetery.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
