Gayla Darlene Edwards

  Born January 14, 1954, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Gladys Venable Miller and Luke Miller; Gayla lived the majority of her life in the Grapevine, Texas area. She left us February 14th, 2023, at age 69.

  Beloved Mother, Nanny, and forever Papa Carl’s “Darlin’.”

  Gayla married the love her life, Carl Edwards on October 16, 1985. 

  Gayla was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Alering; father, Luke Miller; siblings, Geneva Rust, Vern Howell, and Dean Miller; and grand daughter, Brittany Hemel.

  Gayla is survived by her children, Carrie Spivey and her husband, Greg Spivey, Sara Peterson, Steve Edwards and his wife, Katie, Samantha Edwards, Scott Edwards, and Sonya Edwards; grandchildren: Matt Gerschick, Lane Spivey, Courtney Couch, Glen Peterson, Russell Peterson, Jackson Peterson, Tara Avelar, Cody Edwards, Sean Edwards, Jimmy Edwards, Cole Edwards, Allie Edwards, and Emma Edwards, all of which she loved dearly, and many adored great grand children.

  Gayla loved the life she shared with Carl. They spent a lot of time together relaxing at the lake, and entertaining family when they came to visit, summer days in their little blow up pool, roasting marshmallows by bonfires (big and small) and taking in every stray animal that roamed into their yard.

  She was overjoyed with being a grandmother to her grandchildren, and delighted with the arrival of each great grandchild. She was well loved and will be sorely missed.
