Genevieve Allen

Genevieve “Nickie” Allen, 73 of Weatherford, died in a fatal car accident on Thursday, December 24, 2009.  Nickie was born in El Dorado, Arkansas in 1936. In 1953, she met and married Donald Eugene Allen. Together they owned and operated Windsor House, a unique residence for dementia and Alzheimer’s patients in Weatherford. In 2004, they sold the business and retired so they could do some world traveling. Don preceded her in death at the beginning of 2009 from cancer. Nickie, a cancer survivor herself, was very active in the Weatherford community with Republican Women and Rotary Club. Nickie was a beautiful, special woman who touched many lives with her loving kindness and she will be sorely missed. Survivors: Daughters and sons-in-law; Erin and Tim Ratliff of Round Rock, TX, Linda and Bart Clark of Grandview, TX and Jane Allen of Littleton, CO. grandchildren; Kelsey and Kyle Ratliff and Lindsey Clark, sister and brother-in-law, Don and Marilyn Halsell of Keene, TX and sister, Shirley Nixon of Lawrenceburg, TN. A memorial service will be held on 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 in the Trinity Bible Church. The Allen family has requested memorials be made to the Legacy Republican Women of Weatherford Annual Scholarship Fund for nursing students at Weatherford College.
