George Clifford Davis age 92, originally from San Antonio, Texas passed away on July 4, 2017. George was born July 28, 1924 in Fort Madison, Iowa to Hugh Russell and Myrtle Lee Davis. While still a young child, George and his family moved to San Antonio, Texas. In 1943, he graduated from Saint Henry's Academy and immediately joined the US NAVY where he proudly served his country for the next three years during WWII. After his stint in the NAVY, he began working for Chevrolet Motor Division where he met and soon married Anesha (Agnes) Kolacny who for the next 69 years was his constant and loving companion. George’s career with Chevrolet Motor Division spanned over four decades and when he retired in 1988 he had achieved the position of Merchandizing Manager for Chevrolet Motors Division Minnesota Zone.
George was a loving and caring man whose entire life revolved around his family and friends. Mischievous, fun loving and somewhat of a prankster, George was always the life of the party and if there wasn't a party, he would create one with his many stories and jokes. Always the optimist, George naturally saw the glass of life as half full and made the most of his long stay here on earth. Along with his funny side, he truly cared for people and was always ready with a word of encouragement and quick to help anyone in need; family, friends or even strangers. Giving and helping others was just his nature. George had many interests which included golfing, reading, hunting, sports of all kinds; and he especially enjoyed being a part the Lake Kiowa Fishing Club.
George is survived by his daughters Patricia Davis and husband Calvin, Cindy Beem and husband Leigh; sons Russell Davis and wife Cheryl Lynn and George (Kip) Davis, Jr.; grandchildren Kristina Halcomb Barnhart, Maria Halcomb, Keith Davis and wife Renae, Courtney Davis, and Jenny Beem; great-grandchildren James Halcomb, Mackenzie Bridges, Nathan and Natalie Barnhart, and Weston Davis.
George is preceded in death by his wife Anesha (Agnes) Kolacny Davis; father Hugh Russell Davis; mother Myrtle Lee Harp Maloney Davis; brother Hugh Russell Davis Jr. (Jack) and sister Jane Jordan.
