George Monroe Harrison

November 17, 1919 — October 10, 2007

George Monroe Harrison, 87, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at home. George Monroe was born November 17, 1919, in Doyol, Oklahoma, to Charles Audley and Edna Lou Howeth Harrison. 

He was a farm worker and horse trainer most of his life. Mr. Harrison was also a former grounds keeper for Weatherford Regional Medical Center and a Grounds Maintenance Foreman for Isaac School District in Phoenix Arizona. He loved fishing, hunting and horses. 

His wife of 45 years, Ada, precedes him in death, as do his parents, three sisters, and two step-children, Gary Mooney and Alice Dominice. 

Funeral services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. 

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday.

Burial: National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. 

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Davidson and Nancy Morgan both of Weatherford; two sons, E. D. Mooney of Fort Worth and Jimmy Mooney of Weatherford; sister, Lue Ella Rogers of Walters, Oklahoma; two brothers, Edward A. Harrison of Idaho and David L. Harrison of Velma, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
