Gladys Joan Ackerman

Gladys Joan Ackerman, 90, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at her home in Willow Park.  Mrs. Ackerman was born February 15, 1918 in Fostoria, Texas to John William and Minerva Duddley Griffith.  She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, James Elvis Ackerman and a sister, Alice Walker.   Gladys, a former resident of Fort Worth and El Paso, was a member of Willow Park Church of Christ.  She enjoyed sewing and taking pictures.  She was The Favorite Aunt, Matriarch of the Family and a parent to many neighborhood children.   Survivors include two brothers, David and John Griffith; Jack Walker, a nephew she raised as her own, and many other nieces and nephews.   Services will be held at a later date.
