Glenn Raymond Harwell, 81, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday morning, December 15, 2018, in Weatherford.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, December 20, at Brock Baptist Church, in Brock, Texas. Burial will follow at the Brock Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service, Thursday, at the church.
Glenn was born July 30, 1937 in Brock, Texas to Jimmie and Rena Harwell. He proudly served his country in the US Airforce and made a career out of serving his country as a Master Sergeant. Glenn was awarded the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with a bronze star for his mission in December of 1969. He later worked for the Las Vegas (Nevada) Review Journal. Glenn collected rare coins, and enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan and also enjoyed following the Brock Girls High School basketball teams. A devout Christian, Glenn was a long-time member of the Brock Baptist Church.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Tabitha and husband Ben Acree of Fort Dodge, Iowa and by his son, Duane and wife Sylvia Freeman of Chico, California; his grandchildren, Ashton, Caleb, Owen, and Adam; sister-in-law, Carmen Harwell; and by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Harwell and by his brother, Ron Harwell.
