Gloria Davis

Gloria Davis, 79, of Weatherford, went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, September 22, 2008. She was born on her Father’s birthday,
February 12, 1929 in Oakland, California. Her parents, Marcella and Edward Halpin, sister, Sylvia Reecza all of Oakland, Ca, precede her in death, also preceding her in death are her grandsons, Craig Merryman and Seth Davis of Weatherford.

Gloria loved her books and her search for knowledge, wrote poetry about her children and grandchildren and was well informed about world events and left us with a legacy. We will miss Mother but we know she is without pain and rejoicing in heaven.

Surviving Gloria is her husband of 64 years, Waymond Davis, their life long friend, B.L. De Forrest, her daughters and their spouses, Cheryl and Herschel Moore, Susan and Harlis Merryman, Katie and Dirk Dozier, son, Tom Davis, nephews, Ricky Overman and John Handley, niece, Dawana Miller, sister in law, Dora Mae Overman, 10 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren, and a large extended family. Many strangers came thru her door and left as part of her family.


Graveside service           12 noon Friday, September 26, 2008 in the Old Brownfield Cemetery in Brownfield.
Visitation         Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
