Gregory Alan Goodhue, age 60, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 in Dallas, Texas.
He was born on June 21, 1952 to Jack and Betty in Atwood, Kansas. Greg was a longtime resident of Weatherford and a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church. Coach Greg Goodhue happily taught gymnastics at Weatherford High School and retired in 2006, after 33 years of educating. His accomplishments include: NCJAA champion on long horse vault in 1973, NCAA OU champion on long horse vault in 1974; coaching 3 Junior Olympians, 5 boys gymnastics state champion teams, and 8 teams winning the district championship for WHS. Coach Goodhue is the only instructor to have received accolades for both the boy’s and girl’s Coach of the Year award, and won the admiration and respect of his peers and students with positive attitude and tenacious spirit.
He leaves behind his fiancée, Rosalinda Angelica Gomez Martinez of Tampico; daughter, Angela and Barrett Larkey of Houston; sons, Rob Goodhue and Benjamin Goodhue both of Weatherford; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rae Larkey and grandson, Luke Larkey both of Houston. sister, Patricia Webb of Spokane, Washington; brothers, Robert Goodhue and wife, Christine of Montana, and Roger Goodhue of Parker, Colorado
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at noon at
St. Stephens Catholic Church with Father John Casey officiating.
Memorials can be given to Oklahoma University Foundation 100 Timberdell Road, Norman,Ok 73019-0685.
