Harlis Denver Merryman, 75, of Weatherford, passed away on February 7, 2020, surrounded by his family.
A service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at the Calvary Methodist Church, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with burial at Authon Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Harlis was born on February 24, 1944, to the late Gabe Harlis and Zoa Jane Justice Merryman in Bengal, Oklahoma. He married his true love, Susan Ann Davis, on March 19, 1965, and together they adopted Craig and Kelli when they were born.
Harlis, an Army Specialist 4, honorably served his country in Vietnam. He later went on to retire as a utility lineman. Harlis was of strong Christian faith and raised his family to be the same way. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Above all, Harlis loved to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Craig; six brothers, Denver, Wayne, Jimmy, Harold, Myron, and Charlie; and sister, Oleta.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Merryman; daughter, Kelli Hobson (Greg); grandchildren, Tyler (Michae), Cameron, Jordan (Brady), Riley (Madison), Jacob (Katie) and Hannah (Sean); great-grandchildren, Mason, Max, Myles, Caleb, Landry, Baird, Sam, Maddie, and Cora; sister, Mary Campbell; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
