Harry Benino Solano

  Harry Benino Solano departed from this life on Monday, November 27, 2023, at age 85. Harry was born June 15, 1938, in Glendale, California, to the late Dario Solano and Pauline (Mendibles) Solano. He proudly served his country for 15 years in the United States Marine Corps as a combat veteran in Vietnam, followed by 12 years of service in the United States Army as an intelligence linguist. Following his military career, Harry worked as an engineer for Bell Helicopter. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. Harry was predeceased by his parents and son, Harry B. Solano, II.

  Harry is survived by two daughters, Marcella Solano and Marianne Colvin and husband, Glenn; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, Gary R. De La Rosa and Cecil R. De La Rosa and wife, Carolyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

  A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas.

  A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford, Texas 76086.

  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation or Disabled American Veterans.
