Harvey Gerald Williams passed away on March 5, 2020. Born in Roscoe, Texas, on November 22nd, 1945, to Myron Emmanuel Williams (M.E) and Della May Emmons. Harvey lived with and was later adopted by Harvey Sherman Williams, known as Dad Williams, and Agnes Bell Jones Williams, known as Mer.
For most of his childhood, Harvey lived in Kermit, Texas. He participated in track his freshman year of high school, medaling in 220 yard low hurdles. After his freshman year he quit track and focused on mechanic work. He started dating Paula Sue Williams in 1963. He finished high school on May 28th, 1965. He then married Sue, on the next day, May 29th, 1965. They moved to Dallas for Harvey to go to trade school to be an electrician.
Harvey went to work at General Motors on November 22nd, 1965. He enlisted in the Air Force as an electrician in January 1966. He served in an accompanied tour to Okinawa in the Vietnam war. He was discharged on March 9, 1970, as a staff sergeant. He then went back to work with General Motors in 1970. He worked there 33.4 years before he retired on October 1st, 1999. His Job there included material handler or forklift driver, mechanic, and training coordinator. His daughter, Lori Lee, was born in 1973.
After retirement from General Motors they moved to Weatherford, Texas along with their daughter Lori and son-in-law Doug. From 2001-2010 Harvey worked as a tractor mechanic at G&L New Holland in Weatherford, Texas.
Lori and Doug have two sons, Colby James Smith and Jayden Allen Smith.
“Harvey and Sue have been blessed all of their lives.” Harvey described about themselves. And that is true.
