Helen L. Savage, 77, of Weatherford, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Monday, June 4.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. following visitation. Services will be held at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 3 p.m. Monday, June 4, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, a veteran’s charity, or a charity of choice.
Helen was born July 25, 1940 in Clarksville, Texas to Walter and Susie Baird. She was married to John E. Savage for 30 years before he passed in 2003. Helen was active in the Weatherford community. This included her involvement in the Weatherford Newcomers Club, Meals on Wheels, the Parker County Peach Festival and she also won the title of Mrs. Senior Parker County. Helen loved country living, cooking, gardening, her extensive doll collection and caring for those in need. She was devoted to her faith.
Helen is survived by her children, Becky Miers (Jack), Robert Tuscana, Jr. (Donna); sister, Betty New; stepson, John Savage (Patsy); grandchildren, David (Tamie), Laura (Boyd), Ashley (Ryan), Cody, Kayla, Colin and Sheila; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler and Collins; son-in-law, Clint Thonesen; special nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and family whom she adored.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Savage; her daughter, Shana Thonesen; and by her siblings, Ruby Daffern, R.L. Baird, and Truman Baird.
