Helen Loretta Oldaker, age 92, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born on June 16, 1932, in Midland, Texas. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Georgia Helen Hall; as well as her siblings: David Hall, Rex Hall, Ronnie Hall, Larry Hall, and Carolyn Holcomb. She was also reunited with her beloved husband, Richard Louis Oldaker; her son, Richard Louis Oldaker, Jr.; her daughter, Barbara Karen Morton, and son-in-law, Mike Morton; and her grandson, Dennis Brown, Jr.
On July 22, 1948, Helen married Richard Louis Oldaker and their union lasted until his passing in 1987. The couple's life together was marked by frequent relocations due to Richard's career demands. Despite the changes brought by moving often, Helen dedicated herself to creating a loving and nurturing home for their family. She exuded warmth as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. Family held the highest priority in Helen's heart, and she found immense joy in the presence of her loved ones.
Animals held a special place in Helen's heart with a particular fondness for dogs, cats and birds. She always had a tiny dog by her side, pet birds, and outdoor cats and kittens; many of the kittens went on to live with family members. Helen loved to sit outside and watch the cats and kittens playing while listening to the wild birds. She also loved to sew for her family and enjoyed making crafts of all kinds. Helen took pleasure in traveling alone or with a family member and was known to take her camper trailer camping by herself or with grandkids after her husband passed away.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diana Cole, and husband, Jimmy of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa Rains (Adam), Amy Tigner (Justin), April Dean, Jennifer George, Jeff Wise (Denise), Janel Lowrance (John), Bonnie Brown, Michael Brown (Emily), and Jerett Morton (Shey); many great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; along with her brother, Dennis Hall.
A memorial service honoring Helen's life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
