Henry Carroll Derington

Henry Carroll Derington, 64 of Weatherford, TX, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 12, 2016 after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease).
Carroll was born on January 3, 1952, in Seminole, TX before finding his forever home in Weatherford. He established and built a reputable company for himself and soon after married Karla. He was blessed with 8 daughters and 1 son throughout his life; Lori, Christi, Lisa, Michelle, Melanie, Jeremy, April, Valerie, and Fallon. Carroll has always loved and cherished having such a big family, which resulted in 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Carroll loved traveling, seeing new sights, and exploring the land. If he wasn’t driving around in his bus, you could catch him in his beloved SSR, Gator or strolling the neighborhood in his wheelchair. His trips to the Florida Keys and fishing off the pier with his wife was the best times of his life. He was fortunate enough to have a great group of committed, lifelong friends and would often be seen having coffee with the ‘cronies’ – that group was always causing trouble together. Carroll had one of the biggest hearts and would love anyone unconditionally and without question. He would constantly keep you laughing or on your toes, no matter how hard you tried to fight it. Carroll had a passion for life and was determined to live it to its fullest, not matter the circumstances that life threw his way. He was tenacious in the fact that he was going to stay positive and keep smiling, even on the darkest days.
Carroll is survived by his wife, Karla; all children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and sister Robin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15th at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford from 5:00-8:00pm. A graveside committal service will be held at Noon, on Wednesday at Tin Top Cemetery. (Located at the intersection of Bethel Rd and Tin Top Road in Weatherford, TX.
