Henry Clay Martin, 92, of Weatherford, passed away Monday September 21, 2020, in a local nursing facility. He was born December 23, 1927, in Crowell, Texas to Clarence and Ida Scroggins Martin. Henry was an extremely talented artist; he painted a mural in the baptistry at Riverside Trinity Baptist Church. A music lover, Henry enjoyed listening to Bing Crosby, singing in a quartet with his brothers, as he was known for his amazing voice. Henry was WWII veteran, a member of Calvary Cathedral in Ft. Worth and a meticulous landscaper and gardener. He retired after many dedicated years of landscaping at El Chaparral Ranch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Dell “Judy” Martin; granddaughter, Mercedes; and seven siblings.
Henry is survived by his children, Sherri Carpenter, Steven Martin, Lori Arceneaux, and Jennifer Noe; siblings, F.D. Martin, Texas Hentzen and George Martin; grandchildren, Kristopher, Clay, Heather, Andrew, Justin, Luke, Lauren, Alex, Joshua and Ashley, as well as numerous great and great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday September 25, 2020, at Azleland Memorial Park, in Azle.
