Henry Junior Jackson, 91, formerly of Weatherford, passed away Saturday morning, June 5, 2021, in Austin, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 10:30 a.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Burial will follow at the Aledo-Brown Cemetery.
Henry was born in Winnsboro, Texas, October 7, 1929, as one of four children of John Henry Jackson and Mary Reinhardt. Henry served in the U.S. Navy from 1947-1951. On November 28, 1958, he married Cora Louise Jackson of Aledo, Texas. They lived in Fort Worth before moving to Weatherford in 1971.
Henry was a mechanic for the Union Pacific Railroad until he retired in 1991. Henry and Louise were members of Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford where Henry served as a deacon and greeter. They also volunteered with Parker County Committee on Aging, delivering meals to the homebound. Henry was a 50-year member of both the Royal Arch Masons and Royal & Select Masters (Tarrant Chapters).
Henry is survived by his sisters-in-law, Eva Jackson and Betty Schulze; nieces, Carolyn Bivens and Suzanne Lain; and nephews, James Jackson, and Frank and Alfred Schulze.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; his brothers, Cecil and James Jackson; his sister, Grace Saxon; his sister-in-law, Frances Evans; his brother-in-law, J.T. Greenfield; and his niece, Linda Bradshaw.
