Herbert Dewveall Edwards

Weatherford-Herbert Dewveall Edwards, 62, passed from this life Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at home in Waco, Texas following an eight month battle with liver cancer.
He leaves his wife of 26 years, Amanda Lee Edwards, his son Truman Edwards, his two step daughters, Cristen Allen and her husband Shad Allen with their three kids Carter, Camden and Caylen Allen, Stephanie Fullwood and her husband Grant Fullwood with their two kids Kenna and Lincoln Fullwood. He also leaves behind his mom, Bonnie Edwards, sister Judy Walker, and brothers Norman and Nathan Edwards, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends. Herbert was preceded in death by his sister Elaine Anderson and his dad William Clyde (Slim) Edwards. Born in Floydada, Texas, Herbert was raised in Weatherford, Texas and made many lifelong friends along the way.
In his early years, Herbert worked many jobs that made him the man he was and met people who could not help but love him in all of his many adventures. After graduating from Weatherford High School in 1975, he attended Weatherford College and worked many years in the Oil Field and at Lockheed Martin. He met his wife, Mandy Edwards, in 1992 and married in 1993 at Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford, Texas.
Later on in his life, Herbert and Mandy owned a couple of small businesses including a Catfish Restaurant and a few used car lots for many years, serving the people of Brownwood and Gatesville Texas. Living in Waco, for almost six years he became the head Security Guard for Parrish Security and continued his lifelong obsession with the Texas Longhorn football team. You never saw Herbert without some type of Longhorn memorabilia either in the form of a t-shirt, polo, jackets, caps, socks, and/or the magnets on the side of Mandy and Herbert’s burnt orange car he happily named Bevo. Herbert, his son Truman, his grandsons, son in laws and his brothers all enjoyed going to Longhorn games and the Orange and White Spring Games that happened annually.
One of his greatest passions was making sure that his grandkids had many wonderful memories of him and many great adventures for them to experience together. These adventures included going to the beach every summer and taking little trips to places like NASA and Lake Palestine. His favorite time of the year was Christmas, because of the time he got to spend with his grandkids and kids, secretly spoiling them and starting traditions that will be carried on in remembrance of him.

A visitation with the family will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, on the evening of Friday, August 9th, from 6:00-8:00. His memorial service will also be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, Saturday, August 10th, from 2:00-3:00.
