Hurley Gene “Brad” Bradshaw was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He ceded to cancer after a 3-year battle in his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 74.
Hurley was born May 10, 1948, to Gene and Maxine Bradshaw of Mineola, Texas where he was blessed with his younger sister Vickie Pruitt, her husband Mike and her children, Jesse and Laci.
Hurley met the girl of his dreams, Jan, when he was just 3 years old. They dated at age 15 and were married by age 20 for over 54 years. Hurley considered Jan's younger brother, Les Adkins of McKinney, his little brother since high school. He was blessed by Les, his wife, Ann and son, Matt.
Hurley and Jan shared most of their life with their children, Bonnie Simons, residing in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Ryan Bradshaw of Weatherford, who Hurley lovingly called “Pal". Later in life, grandchildren, Katelynn and Joey, are an extra blessing from Bonnie and her husband, Joe Simons, who Hurley affectionately called “son".
Hurley had a deep passion for coaching his grandson’s baseball teams, watching his granddaughter ride horses and play piano. He was a professional photographer, winning numerous awards. He worked in the construction industry as a materials sales manager for over 20 years.
But more than anything, he loved his wife, Jan Bradshaw, of 54 years. She meant the world to him. Hurley was a Deacon of Rio Rancho First Baptist prior to his diagnosis. He had a deep love for Jesus; with whom he now walks.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 3rd, 2023, at Parker County Cowboy Church.
