  J. C. "Pete" Taylor, 84, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.

  J. C. "Pete" Taylor was born September 25, 1928, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Cecil Taylor and Dicie Doyle Taylor. He moved to Davidson, Oklahoma, in 1945, where his parents owned Taylor's Cafe. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed at Langley AFB in Virginia. He married Mary "Jackie" Taylor, July 2, 1951, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. They lived in Newport News, Virginia where there son Mike was born in 1952 and daughter Kathy in 1954. Upon discharge from the Air Force, the family moved to Smithfield, Texas in 1955.

  He retired in 1983 from Army Civil Service at Bell Helicopter in Hurst and he and Jackie moved to Rhome, Texas, before settling in Weatherford in 1986 where they resided at the time of his passing. For the first 13 years of retirement, he worked part time for Trinity Distributors and Revolution Technologies while he and Jackie traveled about seven months of the year. He attended Tarrant County Junior College and received certification in Heating and Air Conditioning.

  He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of the Richland Hills Masonic Lodge 1348 and a member of the Fort Worth Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

  Pete was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was dedicated to his wife of 61 years. Pete was preceded in death by his parents.

  SURVIVORS: His wife, Mary Jaquetta Taylor; son, Mike Taylor and wife, Susan of Colleyville; daughter, Kathy Taylor Trotter of Weatherford; grandson, Larry Wayne Swingle and wife, Jeri of Weatherford; granddaughter, Caitlin Taylor of Colleyville; great granddaughters, Laramie Swingle, Katlyn Gale and Dylan Langley of Weatherford; sisters, Dorthy Hendrix of Frederick, Oklahoma, Joy Crowell and husband, J. B. of Davidson, Oklahoma, Carlene Parris of Davidson, Oklahoma, Sue Howe and husband, Buddy of Burkburnnet, Texas; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a host of caring and devoted friends and his wonderful Willow Park Baptist Church family.

  Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2012, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, Weatherford, Texas. 

  Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. 

  Internment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, Texas.

  Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willow Park Baptist Building Fund, Christian Outreach Church, Odyssey Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
