J. P. (Pop) Binion

July 12, 1922 — January 23, 2013

J. P. “Pop” Binion, age 90, of Weatherford, died Wednesday evening, January 23, 2013 in a Fort Worth Hospital.  Born July 12, 1922 in Pritchett, Texas, a resident of Weatherford for many years.  Mr. Binion was a retired electrician from Carswell AFB, owner of Binion Electric, member of the South Main Church of Christ, Stockyards Masonic Lodge #1244, long time member of the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse and a farmer in the hay business.  He was also a Navy Veteran and served on the USS Nassau and USS Saratoga.  J. P. was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Iva Lee Binion, daughter Diane Binion Kemp, brother Linden Binion, sister, Oleene Sewell and son-in-law, Tommy Osborn.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Binion of Weatherford; daughters, Barbara Binion Osborn of Weatherford and Janis Binion Dove and husband, Bobby of Seminole; son, Mark Binion and wife, Myrna of Weatherford; eight Grandchildren, Lisa Osborn, Aaron Osborn, Kaleb Kemp and wife, Staci, Zane Kemp and wife, Kelly, Sadie Ratliff, Trey Dove and wife, Katie, Keely Gilbert and husband Brent and Bailey Binion; ten great grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Kara Kemp, Kannon, Kinley and Kyler Kemp, Trip Ratliff, Tucker Dove, Brenley and Keegan Gilbert.

Funeral service: 2 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the South
Main Church of Christ with interment in the Spring Creek Cemetery. 
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday, January 25, at the funeral home. 
Memorials may be sent to South Main Church of Christ or the Parker
County Sheriff’s Posse.
