Jack Lee Minnix, 82, of Weatherford, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Friday, February 19, 2021.
Jack was born on June 9, 1938, in Salem, Virginia, to George and Blanch Minnix. Jack worked at Roanoke Textiles and was a retired salesman for Dodson, Bar-Jan and most recently Lynco Products. Jack was an avid golfer, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his wife Vivian and their children and grandchildren. Jack and Vivian would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on June 20, 2021.
Jack was a faithful member and servant of Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford, Texas, for 31 years. He served on the church’s Global Vision Missions Team for 10 years; the finance team for 27 years, served several times as a deacon, as well as chairman of deacons. At times, he taught a new members class that served to acquaint them with the church and it’s ministries. Jack taught the 4th,5th and 6th grade boys Sunday school class and the Senior Saints Sunday school class as well. Jack was always greeting Victory Baptist Church members and visitors with a smiling face and a loving heart. In general, Jack was involved faithfully in most every area of the church’s broad ministry throughout his years of membership.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, George and Blanch Minnix, and his brother, Jerry Minnix. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, James and Betty Harrington.
Jack is survived by his wife, Vivian; daughter, Stephanie Woods and husband, Todd; son, Coley Minnix and wife, Sarah; and daughter, Vanessa Cahill and husband, Blain. He is also survived by his brother, Odell “Fuzzy” Minnix and wife, Janet; brother, Kenneth Minnix and wife, Debbie; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Harrington and wife, Beth, and Larry Harrington and wife, Janice. Jack is also survived by his 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Victory Baptist Church, 1311 E Bankhead Dr, Weatherford, Texas 76086. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Victory Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church building fund or the Victory Baptist Academy scholarship fund.
