Jackson Edgar Stockstill, age 69, of Gordon, formerly of Weatherford, defeated his battle with ALS and passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the comfort of his residence surrounded by his family. Jackson was born on July 11, 1945 in Strawn, Texas to Houston and Velma Stockstill. He was a retired welder and mechanic, and could do just about anything. Jackson demonstrated an incredible faith in God and lived his life with purpose and determination, never wavering in his faith while loving others. He was a member of Gordon Church of Christ. His many joys in life included a love for his grandsons, farming, gardening, hunting and cooking. Jackson was a devoted family man, full of integrity with a great sense of humor. He participated with his boys in many activities while keeping his focus on God and family and not on worldly gain.
Mr. Stockstill is survived by his wife of almost 42 years; Elaine Stockstill, sons, Jeremy Stockstill of Gordon, Jason Stockstill and wife Holli of Midland, grandsons, Jaret Edwin and Jake Edgar Stockstill, brothers, Cotton Stockstill of Hico and Eli Stockstill of Gordon.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, Weatherford. Interment in Russell Chapel Cemetery, Gordon. Visitation 6-8 pm Wednesday at Galbreaith Pickard.
