James Carlton Carroll died peacefully in Hospice Care at Baylor Hospital in Fort Worth on June 27, 2017 after a hard fight against Cancer. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle who dedicated his life to his family.
James was born on September 11, 1941 in Weatherford, Texas to Marion Baylor and Bernice Barrett Carroll. He attended Brock High School and spent the majority of his life farming the family land. He met and married Lavene Peugh Carroll on July 20, 1962.
James is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lavene Carroll; 3 daughters and Son-in-laws - Karen and Greg Couch of Weatherford, TX , Yvonne and Dennis Garner of Gunter, TX, Shirley and Brett White of Acton, TX; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who were his pride and joy; two sisters Barbara and Kenneth Smethers, Margie and Wayne Elliott; sister-in-law Claudette Carroll, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
James had a passion for helping people and could be found taking care of the community cemeteries or entertaining in local nursing homes. Aside from his volunteer work, James was known for his impressive music collection and love of a good card game.
A memorial service is scheduled for July 8, 2017 at Beulah Baptist church at 11:00 a.m., with lunch to follow. Brother Ronnie White and Brother Houston Hook will officiate the ceremony. All are invited to attend and celebrate James's life. In Lieu of flowers, it was his wish that donations be made to local charities or Vitas Hospice at VITASCommunityConnection.org.
