James Dalton Marcum, Jr.

November 3, 1959 — October 24, 2015

James "Jim" Dalton Marcum, Jr., age 55, of Lipan, passed away peacefully in his sleep while vacationing in Pagosa Springs, Colorado at The Diamond T Ranch on October 24, 2015. Jim was born November 3, 1959 in Garden Grove, California to Betty Jo and James Marcum Sr. In 1985, after the death of his father in law, Jim, his wife Deborah, and brother in law Mike Nichols continued the business of Dale Nichols Marble. Jim was an avid hunter who looked forward to his annual trip to Pagosa Springs with his wife. Jim was an all-around outdoorsman and hardworking man. He never passed up an opportunity to teach a lesson or share in the joy of other's accomplishments. Jim was a proud and loving Son, Husband, Dad, Pop, Uncle, and Cousin. Survivors: wife, Deborah Marcum; oldest daughter, Tiffany Marcum and Quincy Crawford, her daughter Tryniti of Granbury, youngest daughter, Taryn  and husband Chris Hard, children Cooper and Emmelyn Dalton "Emmie D" of Weatherford; father, James Marcum Sr. of Lipan; sisters, Johanna Ray and children, Kristian and Colton, Victoria Keen and children, Courtney, Cassidy, and Ashleigh of Lipan; Best friend, business partner, and brother in law, Mike Nichols, wife Shelly, and daughter Bailey of Brock; close cousin, Dan Marcum and Family of Grand Haven, Michigan, father in law James Dixon and wife Kay of Aledo; mother in law Barbara Nichols of Weatherford; and numerous extended family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Marcum, and father in law, Dale Nichols. The family would like to give a very special Thank You to The Diamond T Ranch for opening their homes and hearts to them during this difficult time. Services will be held at Annetta Cemetery, 2700 HWY 5 West, Aledo, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10am, with a gathering for friends and family at The Parker County Sheriff Posse following interment.
