James Fred Rutledge, 68, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in a Fort Worth hospital. James was born August 2, 1946 in Rotan, Texas to Fred D and Alda Bernice Rutledge. He had a successful law enforcement career, beginning with Weatherford Police Department and later retiring as a Criminal Investigator for the Parker County District Attorney’s office. During his 32 year tenor with the district attorney’s office he worked for Mac Smith, Amy Adams and Don Schnebly. James loved to fish and spend time with his “grandboys”. He also enjoyed spending time with his Prayer Buddies and the fellowship he had with his poker buddies on poker night. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Wife of 32 years, Mary Rutledge of Weatherford; daughter, Kristina Rutledge and life partner, Tracie Martin of Weatherford; sons, Lucas Rutledge and wife Amber of Weatherford and David Schuman and wife Lori of Keller; grandboys, Zane, Houston and Grayson; sisters, Pat Chenault Martin and husband Jim of Willow Park, Lynne Gilbert of White Settlement and Karin Gandee and husband Joe of Lakeside; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends that loved him very much.
Funeral: 10:00 AM. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Willow Park Baptist Church.
Visitation: 4-8 PM, Thursday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
