James Junior "J.J." Collins

  James Junior "J.J." Collins passed away April 2, 2007, in Weatherford, Texas. J.J. was born in Olney, Texas, on April 18, 1925, to Jurdy and Alice McGee Collins. 

   J.J. served his country honorably during W.W. II, joining the Army at the age of seventeen. He was stationed in France during the Battle of the Bulge. Upon returning state side, he worked in the west Texas oilfields. 

  In 1950, he married Gay Eileen Moore in Tom Green County. They had two children Gail Christine Collins and Maureen Ann Collins. In 1966, the family moved to Parker County where J.J. owned a machine shop known as J.J.'s Pipe and Bolt. 

  His wife Gay Collins preceded J.J. in death in 1983. 

  Survivors include his daughters and spouses, Gail Smith and husband, Charles of Weatherford, and Maureen Summers and husband, Virgil of Poolville; three grandsons, Rusty Summers of Dallas, Daniel Summers and wife, Tuesdae of Brazos, and Eric Smith of Weatherford; and one great-grandchild, Danion Ryder Summers of Brazos. 

  The family request in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
