James Vernon Parris, "Vernon" died peacefully at his home in Dennis, Texas on February 22, 2015 at the age of 50. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
James Vernon Parris was born on March 31, 1964 to James and Carmen Parris in Fort Worth, Texas. He lived in Everman, until he was 13 when his family moved to the Brock/Dennis area. Vernon graduated in 1982 from Brock High School, after high school, Vernon worked at Jamak Fabrication for many years. He also owned a greenhouse business and for the last 12 years has been employed by National Shot Peening, until he could not work any longer due to his illness. He bragged about his bosses and co-workers, he loved working there. Vernon loved sports, especially playing basketball and baseball and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved outdoor activities; hunting, fishing and looking for and collecting arrowheads. He was kind, caring, loving and funny. He never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Vernon is survived by his wife Tina, parents, James and Carmen Parris of Dennis, Daughters; Candice Parris and granddaughter Lily, Stephanie Seebold, husband Mick, and grandchildren Jayden, Kinsley, Pryson and Christian, Lauren Crawford, husband Rodney, and granddaughter London Crawford, all of Weatherford, daughter, Rian Parris, and son J, C. Parris both of Mineral Wells; brothers, Jack Parris, and wife Sherri, of Dennis; John Parris of Fort Worth, niece and nephews Madison, Jackson, Jared and Jett Parris. He is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, and many loving friends.
The family wants to thank Covenant Hospice, and especially nurse Judith for their care and compassionate help during this difficult time.
Graveside service is to be held at 2 pm Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in the Johnson Cemetery, Dennis Texas.
