Janice Jay Calverley

Janice Jay Calverley, age 78, passed from this life Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Janice was born February 24, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to J.T. and Vesta Cannon Davis. She married John Edward Calverley in 1959. John and Janice owned an air conditioning and heating company, Calverley Service Company, for several years in Dallas, Texas. Later, she retired after twenty years as an accounting clerk for the State Fair of Texas. Janice loved to square dance, go camping, do crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She was a fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys (Tom Landry era). Her focus in life was the love of her life, “Johnny,” along with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, J.T. and Vesta; and her son, Terry Lee Calverley. 

“Nana” is survived by a large family, including her brother, Joe T. Davis of Thailand; three daughters, Susan Vinson and husband, Eric of Weatherford; Sheryl Lusk and husband, Rodney of New Ipswich, New Hampshire; Melissa Matej and husband, Vince of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren: Bradley, Kristi, Patricia, David, Brandi, James, Alexander, John Garrett, and Ryan; twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday February 7, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with the Celebration of Life Ceremony Tuesday February 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
