Janice Lee Hicks

Janice Lee Hicks, 62, passed from this life surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Janice was born on December 28, 1960, in Merkel, Texas to Jack Lee South and Billie Jo (Baldwin) South. She graduated with a master's degree in social work and worked tirelessly as a therapist in Aledo. She served countless families and individuals, but that achievement pales in comparison to how wonderful a wife, mother, and Nay Nay she was to her family. Janice married Michael Cason Hicks and together they have three children: Amanda, Cason, and Jackson. She had many talents, but her family always came first. Janice brought much joy to everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Billie Jo South.

Janice is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Mike Hicks of Hudson Oaks, Texas, and their children: Amanda Jo Hicks, Cason Lee Hicks and his wife Amber Hicks, and Jackson Taylor Hicks. She also had three grandchildren who adored her, Jonah Hicks, Kynlee Hicks, and Olivia Hicks. She is also survived by her sister Judy South, brother Tommy South, brothers-in-law Mark Hicks and Kirk Hicks, and sisters-in-law Jeanie West and Debbie Williams, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel (913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas, 76086). A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am at the funeral chapel.
