Jerry Murray, 72, of Willow Park, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, July 4, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00, P.M., on Saturday, July 8, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Service Road, in Willow Park. Visitation with the family will be held from 2 P.M. until the time of the service, Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Jerry was born on November 26, 1944 in Greeley, Colorado to Wayne and Ruth Hays. Jerry married James Murray on July 5, 1964 and together had four sons. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Southwestern Adventist College and taught for 18 years in the Seventh-day Adventist church school system. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed cake decorating, gardening, and canning in addition to crocheting, knitting, and collecting Angels. Most of all, Jerry was firm in her faith and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Jerry is survived by her husband Jim of nearly 53 years; her sons, James of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jon of Sacramento, California, Jerold (Wendy) of Arlington, and Michael of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Trent, Rachel, Tyler, Antonio, and Cassandra; her brothers, Charles, Wayne, and Mark Hays; and by her sister, Joanne Heckmaster.
In addition to her parents, Jerry was preceded in death by her sisters Charlotte and Alice.
