Jerry W. Newsome

Jerry W. Newsome, 71, of Weatherford, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2018, in Weatherford.

Visitation will be held this evening, Thursday, April 26, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. A graveside committal service will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m., at Memory Gardens, west of Weatherford.

Jerry was born June 6, 1946, in Comanche, Texas – the youngest son of Grady and Elizabeth Newsome. Jerry married the late Marilyn J. Harris on August 19, 1966 and together had two sons, Jerry, Jr. and Gregory. His entire professional career was devoted to Bell Helicopter where he was a Material Bonder retiring after over 41 years. He was a member of the UAW Union Local 218 and was a life-long member of the Springtown Chapter Masonic Lodge. Most of all, Jerry will be remembered as being a devoted husband and father.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jerry, Jr. and wife, Carole Lynn, and Gregory M. Newsome.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, in 2014, and by his brother, Buddy Joe Newsome.
