James “Jim” Elmer Mutchler, 85, of Fort Worth, passed away late Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Baylor All Saints in Fort Worth. Jim was born June 8, 1930 in New Underwood, South Dakota. He was one of 8 children born to Elmer and Anna Mutchler. Jim proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed keeping his farm and tending to his cattle. Jim enjoyed playing cards, especially the game of ‘Scat’ and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, Jim cherished time spent with his family – especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Karen Bierle, Maryclair Van Deaver; by his sons, Larry, Brian, and Mark Mutchler; 17 grandchildren; and by numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Jean in 2008; daughter, Brenda Chambers on June 1, 2016; by his grandson, Aaron Mutchler and granddaughter, Tracy Bierle.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00, Thursday, June 9, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home, 913 North Elm Street, in Weatherford. Burial will follow at 3 at Holly Hills Cemetery in Granbury, Texas.
