Jimmy Harold Williams, 72, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away early on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10 A.M., on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Burial will follow at Annetta Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening, from 5 until 7, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford.
Jimmy was born on November 25, 1946, in Boydell, Arkansas, to Leslie and Addie Williams. A devout Christian, Jimmy was active at North Side Baptist Church where he served as a Security Officer. He was also a chaplain of the Gideon Society. He enjoyed outdoor activities including riding his motorcycle. An avid golfer, Jimmy enjoyed participating in the Colonial Golf Tournament for many years. Additionally, he loved singing and playing his harmonica. He ‘Loved Big’. Jimmy was always a “cut-up and a joy to be around” and was known for his “stories”. Most of all, Jimmy will affectionately be remembered as being devoted to his family as a husband, father, and grandfather. His motto in life would have been, “I started out bad…I finished well.”
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Karen of over 21 years; his children, Sammye (Jeff) Causey, Jimmy Ray Williams, Vanda (Andy) Harrell, Bryan (Laci) Thomason, and Nolen (Tonya) Thomason; grandchildren, Madison, Ryan, Rachel, Sadie, Cole, Claire, Jazmine, Daniel, Samuel; his sister, Deborah Williams-Manning; and by numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Ann Morgan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International Texas State Convention or to Grace Notes of Parker County.
