Jimmy Lance Hook

A true cowboy to his core, Jimmy Lance Hook, saddled up at age 73 and took his last ride on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, and heard, "Welcome Home, Cowboy."

Jimmy was born March 1, 1950, in Stephenville, Texas to Henry Houston Hook and Mamie Louise (Hamilton) Hook. When he wasn't on a horse, Jimmy worked for Helena Chemical, was a member of Brock Baptist Church, and the last outfit he rode for was the River Bluff Ranch, located in the Texas Hill Country. In his cattle profession, Jimmy was President of the Weatherford College Rodeo Booster Club (WCRB Club), Parker County Livestock Improvement Association (PCLIA), and 'Cow Boss' for the commemorative 'Circle 95' Great American Cattle Drive of 1995 - where fathers and sons herded about 260 head of Texas longhorn steers from Texas to Montana, for the first time since the Civil War era. Jimmy died as he lived, loved by all.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Houston Hook.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Colleen Hook of Millsap, Texas; son, Jody Hook and wife, Joe; grandson, Jordan Houston Hook; mother, Louise Hook; twin brother, Johnny Vance Hook and wife, Billie Lou; and numerous friends.

Jimmy will lie in state for viewing from noon to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2023, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel stateroom, located at 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.

A graveside service will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2023, at Brock Cemetery, 1189 FM 1708 Weatherford Texas 76087, officiated by Rev. Cary Killough. Serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Armstrong, Mike Woodruff, Ernie Spillman, Roy Don Bell, Johnny Emmons, and Roger Dixon.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Weatherford College Rodeo Booster Club.
