Jimmie Gordon Nolen

Jimmie (Jim) Gordon Nolen, age 73, departed from this life on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Jim was born February 26, 1951 in Lawton, Oklahoma, to the late Charles Nolen and Thelma (Bruce) Nolen.

Throughout his life, Jim found joy in various endeavors. He dedicated himself professionally as a truck driver, specializing in hauling rodeo rough stock and road construction equipment. An accomplished steer wrestler, he also actively participated in professional rodeo events and organized rodeo gatherings within his local community. 

Jim’s altruistic spirit shown through his volunteer work for Little League Baseball and Softball, where he generously offered his time coaching and umpiring. Additionally, he served as a volunteer fireman in small communities around Wichita Falls. Jim’s kindness and contributions to those around him will always be remembered with fondness. 

Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Kellye Nolen of Millsap, Texas; his children: Lori Gonzales (Jessie), Noel Nolen (Lainea), and Nia Hiney (Wade); as well as his grandchildren: Beau Spears, Karlie Ashley, Kinslee Plowman, and Karson Nolen, and several extended bonus grandchildren as well. He is also survived by his siblings: Travis Nolen, Phillip Nolen, Sheila Castens, and Scott Nolen. 

A memorial service to honor Jim’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to The National Emphysema Foundation (NEF).
