J.L. "Buddy" Cryer, Sr.

J.L. "Buddy" Cryer, Sr., age 87, passed from this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was born November 18, 1935, in Stanton, Tennessee to John Emit Cryer and Edith Marie (Pruitt) Cryer. Throughout his life Buddy was an avid outdoors-man; he enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and worked in the farming industry. Animals were drawn to him and Buddy was known as a dog whisperer. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his fur babies (Lucy, Azula, and Dixie). Buddy’s memory will be cherished and his legacy will live on by all who knew him.

Buddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Marie (Meeks) Cryer; son, J.L. Cryer, Jr.; parents, John and Edith Cryer; and sister, Carolyn Cryer Redding.

Buddy is survived by his children, Tracey M. Cryer and wife, Angela (Weatherford, TX), Tammy Campbell (Alamo, TN), Linda Sullivan (Humboldt, TN), and Victoria Emison (Alamo, TN); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sister, Nellie Richardson (Brownsville, TN).

Tracey and Angie Cryer would be honored for friends to attend a visitation at their home on Saturday, June 17th, 2023, from 12pm - 2pm.
