Joann Hawkins Jones

JoAnn Hawkins Jones completed her journey in this life on Friday, August 9th surrounded by family.
 
JoAnn was born in Hollis, Oklahoma on September 29, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jones, daughter, Sharon Nesby, second husband Norris Barton, sisters, Lois Richards and LaVerne Willis, and brothers, Claude Hawkins and Clyde Hawkins.
 
JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Her death leaves a hole in the heart of all who knew her. Her life's mission was to love God and to share that love with others, which she did with all her heart.
 
She was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church.
 
Survivors include son in law Richard Nesby, daughter Sandy Rhodes and husband Lester, daughter Judy Galik and husband Tommy, son, Billy Jones and wife Karin, daughter Becky Elliott and husband Dean.
 
Grandchildren: Kevin Nesby, Marc Nesby, Matt Nesby, Johnny and Marsha Rhodes, Jimmy and Heather Rhodes, Jason and Amber Galik, Bryan and Emmalee Jones, Jake and Sarah Jones, Corey and Sara Tucker, Luke Elliott, Indy Nesby, and 19 great grandchildren.
 
 

The Celebration of JoAnn's life will be Tuesday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at First Baptist Church. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Community Cemetery with Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
