Joel was born on February 20, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Robert and Evestus Keeter. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines, serving as an Embassy Guard in England and Bulgaria. He was also fond of reminding his family that “once a Marine, always a Marine!”
Joel earned his bachelors degree from McMurry University, then worked for over 38 years for Harbison & Fischer Corp., as a Regional Manager. He was a member of Christ Chapel in Fort
Worth. On June 21, 1997, Joel married Tedda Kelley. Joel had a passion for dogs and his grandchildren.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing, golfing and golfing. When not golfing he loved cooking, traveling, and watching all sporting events with his favorite Dachshunds in his lap! Most of all, Joel cherished time spent with his family. He never met a stranger and always remembered people and names.
Joel is survived by his wife of 24 years, Tedda; his children, Trent (Christina) Kelley, Ryan Kelley, and Reagan (Jenifer) Kelley; 8 grandchildren, Caitlin, Hannah, Christian, Sam, Gracie, Ella, Caleb, and Krew; brothers, Harold Keeter, Bobby Keeter, and Jerry Keeter; his sister, Cheryl Parker; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
