John Daniel Doss

Dan Doss was born October 23, 1928 in Brock, Texas.
 
Dan was a retired member of the Weatherford Volunteer Fire Department, Olive Branch Masonic Lodge at Brock, Eastern Star #274 at Brock, and North Side Baptist Church where he was ordained a deacon at the age of 75.  He was a graduate of  Weatherford High School Class of 1947.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glynn and Helen Butler Doss and a son, Johnny Doss.
 
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donnell Doss, his daughters: Abbe Patton and husband Lisle and Dana McLaughlin and husband Ron, his sons: Neal Doss and wife Brenda and Gene Doss and wife Jennifer.  Also surviving are his grandchildren: Micheal, Krystopher, J.D., and Miranda; and his sister: Glynda Mann.  He is survived by a very special friend: Tom Gould.
 
The family requests memorials be made to North Side Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
 
Services will be 2 PM, Tuesday April 27, 2010 at North Side Baptist Church in the new sanctuary.  Burial will be in East Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation is from 6 – 8 PM Monday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
