A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at Rock of Helps Church, 801 Tremont Street, Weatherford, TX. The officiant will be Brother Sonny Buckingham.
John was born on March 16, 1934, in Fort Worth, TX to Paul Otto and Dovie Norene Rudolph. He proudly served his country during peacetime in the U.S. Army. John married Martha Watkins on November 8, 1958. John worked as a maintenance supervisor beginning with Pollock paper company and retired from Georgia Pacific after 44 years of work. He was an incredibly patient man that loved not only his family but those that considered him their 2nd dad or 2nd grandpa! He always enjoyed an R.C. Cola and Moon Pies as well as a good hot cup of coffee! His favorite thing to do was to go “jeeping” in Ouray Colorado with his family. His many interests included working on anything mechanical and tinkering with cars. He loved railroads, watching John Wayne movies and dinners with his family. He was the king of creating sayings that no one knew the meaning of but him! His most memorable is, “Now you’ve gone way beyond science.”. A devout Christian, John was a member of Rock of Helps Church. John will be remembered for many things, but most of all, he will be remembered as a Loving Man who cherished his family.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha; his daughter, Dovie Deihl and husband Bill of Denton; his son, John Rudolph and his wife, Angel of Weatherford; his grandchildren, Karl Rudolph, Gerry Don Rudolph, James Rudolph, Jennifer Rudolph, Jacob Hunter, Chris Bridgewater, Laura Deihl, Mary Deihl, John Deihl, Madison Rudolph, Marlee Rudolph and Parker Rudolph; 8 great-grandchildren.
